Here’s my predictions for the quarter finals based on who I picked to advance the group stages.

1) Quarterfinal: June 19th

This match will include the Winner of Group A vs Runner up in Group B

I saw Portugal winning group A and Croatia as Runner Up in Group B

Portugal is a great club but Croatia is just a magical team in the midfield. I really think they will be this years Greece or this years Portugal from Euro 04. I see Croatia advancing on a 2-1 score.

2) Quarterfinal: June 20th

Winner of Group B vs. Runner up of Group A

Germany vs Czech

The Czech defense and midfield will not be able to control the attack, possession, and quick passing of Germany. Germany wins on the score of 2-0.

3) Quarterfinal: June 21st

Winner Group C vs. Runner up Group D

Italy vs Russia

I love how Russia is managed but Italy is too strong of a team in every aspect of the field. It won’t be easy though. 2-1 Italy

4) Quarterfinal: June 22nd

Winner Group D vs. Runner up group C

Spain vs. France

This one will be a beauty to watch for anyone who loves play through the midfield. That’s why I expect high scoring not because of the prolific strikers involved. 4-2 for Spain.

Semi-final:

Winner of Game 1 vs Winner of Game 2

I don’t think Croatia will be able to defend against the attack of Germany. They don’t have anyone who can play well as a holding midfield who can pick apart the midfield of Germany. 3-2 Germany.

Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4

Italy vs. Spain, what a treat. I said it before that Spain would only make it far should their strikers come out to play together. If they do, they win just because the loss of Cannavaro will make a difference. Spain 3-1.

Finals!!!!!!

Spain vs Germany, what a better treat. Too many difficult fixtures for Spain. Germany is just too strong and aggressive of a team but this one will be one for the ages.. Germany has an easy group and then the Czech and a tougher challenge in Croatia will see the Germans ready for this final. Germany wins 3-2.
