I just finished reading Dave Feschuk’s article with the Toronto Star. He pretty much told Chris Bosh to shut up and win. Chris Bosh posted this video on youtube.com in an attempt to get Raptors’ fans rowdy.
I think Feschuk should shut his mouth. Yaa, the Raps need to win. Yaa, they’ve had a very sub-par month. Hell, I was disgusted watching them play during this month. Regardless of that, you gotta support the boys. Constantly we are told by Sundin etc. to get behind the Leafs and this is never questioned. It is always done. When the undisputed Raptors Captain asks of this from us, you tell him to shut up. That’s what’s wrong with this town. Raptors have to win to get support; which I totally agree with. Leafs are blindly supported. Leafs have put garbage in front of us, every year for 40 years with exception to the only team with a chance in 92-93. Raptors have relatively put great quality on the court; with exception to a couple of years after their expansion and after VC screwed us.
Last year, ACC was one of the loudest places in the league next to Oakland’s Oracle Arena. The Oracle Arena has still been one of the loudest places in the Association, despite the fact that Golden State is battling for a playoff spot. We are in and we are acting like little babies.
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess why ACC hasn’t been as loud. It’s becoming harder to get tickets to Raps games. People wanted to see what all the fuss was about. They realized, “hey we got a Toronto team here that knows how to win, lets quickly get on that last seat of the bandwagon while we can because we got some money”. Now people who want to actually support the Raps because they watch every single game can’t go. These same people that sit in class watching games. The same people are being forced to decide between NHL playoffs and Raptors Basketball.
People who are going to the ACC to watch the Raptors really need to watch some soccer (not MLS, EPL, La Liga, or Serie A preferably). These guys will be down in a game feeling dead. If their fans don’t chant and cheer them on, they struggle to develop any productive ball movement. When they do cheer them on, the game changes. San Siro (AC Milan and Inter Milan), Old Trafford (Manchester United), Bernabeu (Real Madrid), and Stamford Bridge (Chelsea) are some of the hardest places to play in the world for opposition teams because of the noise level from the fans. The smallest out of those, Stamford Bridge, holds only 45,000 but still Chelsea holds a 79 game unbeaten streak at home.
No excuses, get behind your team. If you don’t want to get behind your team, don’t come. Straight up
I have never liked Feschuck he thinks he knows basketball but more often then not he is trying to create B.S and get his own work talked about. I agree he SHOULD SHUT UP not Bosh
